DISCONTINUED Azur 72039 Vultee V-11

The Vultee V-11 was an attack aircraft and close support aircraft of American production from the interwar period and World War II, with a full metal low wing structure. The drive was provided - in the basic version - by a single Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp R-1830 engine with a capacity of 1200 HP. The first flight of this machine took place in 1935. In the years 1936-1940, serial production was carried out, which led to the creation of about 220 aircraft of this type.

The Vultee V-11 was developed as a grassroots initiative by the Vultee Aircraft Corporation. The new machine was developed on the basis of the Vultee V-1 passenger plane. However, it had a completely new power unit with higher maximum power, a completely redesigned hull with a completely new shape and a reinforced structure. In the course of serial production, directed almost exclusively for export, a dozen or so development versions of this aircraft were created, for example: V-11G (basic production series), BSH-1 (version licensed in the USSR) or YA-19 (version used by American forces air). The machine was exported to China, Brazil, Turkey and the USSR. Chinese aviation machines were used most intensively during World War II.
