Five prototypes were built. The first flew on March 10, 1978, and the fifth - Mirage 2000B (two-seater training version) in October 1980. The first serial Mirage 2000C flew on November 20, 1982. An interesting version is also the Mirage2000N, capable of carrying nuclear weapons. According to Dessault Mirage 2000, it is capable of intercepting a target flying at an altitude of 25,000 meters at 3Ma within four minutes after take-off from the airport.
