Takom 2083 Bandvagn BV 206S Articulated Armored Personnel Carrier

The Bandvagn 206 (Bv 206 for short) is a modern Swedish articulated transport vehicle with tracked traction. The length of the vehicle is 6.86 meters with a width of 1.85 meters. The car is powered by a single 6-cylinder engine Ford Cologne with 133 hp and a capacity of 2.8 liters. So far, approximately 11,000 vehicles of this type have been built.

The Bandvagn 206 was developed at the request of the Swedish armed forces as a successor to the Volvo Bv 202. From its predecessor, it took an unusual design consisting of two sections, but moved by one engine. However, it was even more technically and technologically refined. The Bandvagn 206 is a vehicle designed for driving in extremely difficult off-road conditions - especially in high snow or on peat bogs. In the course of production, several versions of this very successful vehicle were created, including: Bv 206A (ambulance), RaBv 2061 (command and communication vehicle) or Bv 206S (armored tracked transporter, powered by another power unit with more power, capable of transporting by road air). The Bv 206 vehicle is used by armed forces from countries such as Sweden, Estonia, Greece and Canada.
