Special Hobby 48113 Albatros C.III Captured and foreign service

The Albatros C.III was a German multipurpose biplane from the First World War. The prototype flight took place in 1915, and serial production started at the turn of 1915/1916. The drive was usually provided by a single Argus As.III or a Mercedes D.III engine with 180 HP and 160 HP. The length of the aircraft was 7.9 meters with a wingspan of 11.7 meters. The deck armament consisted of two 7.92 mm machine guns. The machine could also carry a load of bombs weighing up to 91 kilograms.

Albatros C.III was developed and put into production for the needs of the German Air Force (Ger. Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte), and its production was the responsibility of, among others: Albatros Flugzeugwerke and LVG (full name: Luft-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH ). The machine was in fact a development of the very successful Albatros CI aircraft, and compared to its predecessor, it had a more aerodynamic fuselage and tail. Thanks to these and other modifications, the plane had significantly better maneuverability, rate of climb and overall performance. The C.III albatross was used in The Luftstreitkräfte actually performs a great many tasks, starting with photographic reconnaissance, and ending with the escort of its own heavy bombers. After World War I, it was used, among others, in Polish and Finnish aviation.
